Imam Mohammed Ahmed Introduction:
Imam Mohammed (Ibrahim) Ibn Ahmed, originally came to the US from the land of her majesty, the United Kingdom. He is well versed in theology, philosophy and jurisdiction having studied from scholars in South Asia, the Middle East and the West. As a result of these experiences, he is able to relate to people of differing theological backgrounds. In addition to his studies, Imam Mohammed has memorized the Qur’aan in the riwayah of Hafs ‘An Asim in his youth. His primary interests is in the field of comparative fiqh (jurisprudence) and considered to be an expert in all four schools of thought by his peers.
In the recent years Imam Mohammed has worked very closely with government officials building bridges between them and the Muslim community, training law enforcement agents and also conducting Imam training courses across the globe.
Over the past 14 years, he has served as an Imam in different capacities. One can consider him quite open-minded as he can gel with the young and old alike. He has also served as an advisor to his Excellency Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi Ambassador of Kuwait and under his direction served as a Khateeb to the largest Islamic center in the in the north east (Islamic Cultural center of NYC). He continues to be consulted by the administration of the mosque and often invited do deliver Khutbah’s. He was previously the Director of Religious Affairs at JMIC, Boonton (Jame Masjid Islamic Center), and a resident scholar at Darul Islah NJ. Presently, he runs his own consulting company focusing on behavioral psychology as well as holds the following positions:
-Muslim Chaplain at Bergen County Sheriff’s office
-President of Islamic Chaplaincy of NJ
-Resident scholar at Al Minhal Academy in Sewell NJ
